How do I get started as a photographer?

Download the Viewlyt desktop app, create your account, and start your first project. Follow our step-by-step guide in the documentation for project creation.

Is Viewlyt free to use?

Viewlyt offers both free and premium plans. Basic features are available for free, while advanced features are pay per use.

Which devices does Viewlyt support?

Viewlyt desktop app works on Windows and macOS. The mobile app is available for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices.

Project Creation

How do I create a new project?

Open Viewlyt desktop app, click "New Project" on the home screen, enter customer details (name, description, project folder), configure access settings, and complete payment based on project size.

What are access settings?

Access settings control what clients can do with photos: enable/disable screenshot capability, set download limits per image, and configure sharing permissions.

How is project pricing calculated?

Pricing is automatically calculated based on project size (number of photos), selected features, and storage requirements. You'll see the total cost before payment.

Can I modify project settings after creation?

Some settings can be modified after creation, but access permissions and pricing are locked once the project is published. Contact support for assistance.

Desktop App Installation

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10+ and macOS 10.15+. Requires 2GB RAM minimum, 500MB free space, and internet connection for activation.

How do I install Viewlyt desktop app?

Visit viewlyt.com/download, choose your platform, download the installer, run it with administrator privileges, and follow the installation wizard.

Why won't the app start after installation?

Check system requirements, ensure antivirus isn't blocking it, try reinstalling, or contact support. Make sure you have sufficient disk space and permissions.

How do I update the desktop app?

The app checks for updates automatically. You'll see a notification when an update is available. Click to download and install.

Mobile App Usage

How do customers access event photos?

Download Viewlyt mobile app from App Store or Google Play, login with phone/email, enter OTP, and view photos on the home screen.

How do customers select or reject photos?

Tap any photo to open gallery view, use Select or Reject buttons at the bottom. Photos automatically move to Selected/Rejected folders.

Can customers change their selections?

Yes, customers can modify selections anytime before the photographer's deadline. Use the Selected/Rejected folders to review choices.

What if customers forget their login?

Customers can request a new OTP or reset password

Photo Organization & Selection

How do photographers get customer selections?

Open Viewlyt desktop app - selected photos automatically appear in "Selected" folder, rejected in "Rejected" folder.

What if selections don't appear in desktop app?

Click the refresh button on the home screen to sync latest customer selections. Ensure internet connection is working.

Are original photos modified?

No, Viewlyt creates organized folders without touching your original photos. All files remain in their original quality.

How does the selection deadline work?

Photographers set deadlines for customer selections. After deadline, selections are final and ready for album creation.

Sharing & Permissions

How do I share photos with family?

Open mobile app, go to event photos, tap info (i) icon, open Information tab, view current members, tap "Add Member" to invite family with different permission levels.

How do I update permissions?

In the Information tab, tap on any member to change their permission level or remove access. Changes apply immediately.

What if I have login issues?

Check internet connection, ensure correct credentials, clear app cache, or reinstall app. Contact support if issues persist.

Why are photos not uploading?

Check file size limits, internet connection, available storage, and file formats. Large uploads may take time - be patient.

What file formats are supported?

Viewlyt supports JPEG and PNG, Maximum file size is 100MB per photo

How secure are my photos?

Who can see my client photos?

Only you (photographer) and invited clients/family members can see photos. Access is logged and can be revoked anytime.

Does Viewlyt store my photos permanently?

Photos are stored securely in the cloud. You can delete projects anytime, and we follow data retention policies.

What about GDPR/data privacy?

Viewlyt complies with GDPR and international privacy laws. You control all data.
